Ghatothkach - Master of Magic - Movie Synopsis


Ghatothkach, lovingly called “Ghattu” is the prince of the forest and is blessed with extra-ordinary powers. He has loads of fun with his magical powers, but also uses them to protect everyone around him.

As a five year old, he rescues “Gajju” – a baby elephant which leads to a lifelong friendship.

The film is the journey of a prince and his elephant friend – full of magic, fun and adventure. When challenged by evil forces that are out to destroy him and to stop him from fulfilling his destiny, Ghattu and Gajju form an invincible team to fight them. Together, they unite two soul mates – against all odds, in their own unique funny way.

After the success of ‘Bal Ganesh,’ Shemaroo Entertainment is busy gearing up for its next mega animation release ‘Ghatothkach – Master of Magic’.

Ghatothkach is a feature-length ‘Bollywood – Ishtyle’ musical animated film for the entire family. The story of Ghatothkach, lovingly called ‘Ghattu,’ explores his magical escapades, with an interesting mix of magic, action, romance, comedy, fantasy and is complete with foot-tapping songs.

The movie will be released in 7 languages, biggest ever for any animation film in India. To ensure animation quality as per world standards, best talent from India, USA, Philippines and Canada have been utilized to make this movie.

The movie is a co-production between Shemaroo Entertainment and Sun Animatics. It is directed by world renowned Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, who has earlier directed internationally acclaimed films like Pushpak, Appu Raja and Son of Alladin, amongst many.

Ghatothkach - the Maya Bazaar episode

Mahabharata is one of the most enchanting and enthralling tales ever told. Due to its vastness, there are several characters and incidents of the epic that are not very well known to all. One such example is the story of Ghatothkach.

When one is asked about Ghatothkach, other than him being the Pandava brother Bheema’s son and part of the mighty war, his story remains untold. However, there are several interesting events that took place in the life of Ghatothkach as a kid as well as an adult, which would mesmerize people of all age-groups.

The entire episode is better known as Maya Bazaar, which is filled with magic, romance, fun, thrill and adventure. The protagonist of the series of incidents in Maya Bazaar is none other than Ghatothkach, fondly called Ghattu - son of Hidimba and Bheema. His best friend is a baby elephant Gajju, and their journey of fun and adventure is thoroughly enjoyable!
